Mission Statement and Community Engagement

Community Engagement

At 806 Big Rig Round Up, our passion for big rigs goes far beyond chrome, horsepower, and polished steel. We believe a truck show should do more than bring people together for a weekend — it should leave a lasting impact on the community that supports it.

From day one, our mission has been to be good stewards of Dalhart and the surrounding area. We are proud to call this community home, and we are intentional about building connections, giving back, and showing up wherever we’re needed.

Giving Back Where It Matters Most

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the 806 Big Rig Round Up is dedicated to assisting a local family in need. Supporting families during difficult times is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. Whether it’s helping with medical expenses, unexpected hardships, or other life challenges, we are committed to making sure our show creates real, tangible impact beyond the event grounds.

Our goal isn’t just to host a successful truck show — it’s to create hope, relief, and encouragement for members of our community who need it most.

Building Community Connections

We believe community isn’t built in a single weekend. It’s built through presence, partnership, and participation throughout the year.

That’s why 806 Big Rig Round Up proudly participates in and supports local events such as:

  • XIT – including hosting the foam party at the park, creating a fun, safe, and memorable experience for families.

  • Downtown Dalhart’s Trunk or Treat – bringing trucks, treats, and smiles to kids and families each Halloween season.

  • Dalhart Christmas Parade – celebrating the holidays alongside our neighbors and helping spread Christmas cheer throughout the city.

These events give us opportunities to interact with families, business owners, and fellow community members in meaningful ways. We’re not just an annual event — we’re active participants in the life of our town.

Supporting Fellow Enthusiasts

The trucking and automotive communities are built on camaraderie. We proudly support our big rig companions and car show counterparts by making appearances at other events whenever possible. Whether it’s a local car show, regional truck event, or community fundraiser, we believe in showing up for those who share the same passion and dedication.

When one event succeeds, it strengthens the entire community of enthusiasts. We believe in collaboration over competition and in lifting one another up.

Volunteer Spirit

None of what we do would be possible without volunteers. 806 Big Rig Round Up is powered by individuals who give their time, energy, and heart to make each event successful.

Volunteering isn’t just something we encourage — it’s something we live by. From organizing logistics to participating in community celebrations, we are proud to serve hands-on. Our team understands that leadership means being willing to step in, step up, and serve.

More Than a Show

806 Big Rig Round Up is about relationships.

It’s about families making memories.

It’s about businesses and sponsors investing in something positive.

It’s about truckers and enthusiasts sharing their pride and craftsmanship.

It’s about neighbors helping neighbors.

Every truck that rolls in, every sponsor that partners with us, and every attendee who walks through our gates becomes part of something bigger than a show — they become part of a movement focused on community, generosity, and connection.

We are grateful for the continued support of Dalhart and the surrounding region. As we grow, our commitment remains the same: to honor our community, give back with purpose, and represent the spirit of the Texas Panhandle with integrity and pride.

Thank you for being part of the 806 Big Rig Round Up family. We’ll see you at the next event — and around town.
